A BaZi chart isn't calculated from the calendar date alone. Four separate conversions happen between the date you type and the chart you see.
Every year, month, day and hour carries one of ten Heavenly Stems and one of twelve Earthly Branches. These run on independent cycles — the day cycle has no relation to the month cycle — so they're computed separately, not looked up from a single table.
Calendar months mean nothing in BaZi. Your month pillar is set by where the sun sits in the zodiac, so the boundary drifts between roughly the 4th and the 8th of each Gregorian month and shifts slightly every year. Two people born on 3 February in different years can carry completely different month pillars.
The hour pillar depends on local time at the place you were born, not the time zone you happen to be sitting in now. If you were born far from your current city, tell the calculator where — the hour pillar shifts accordingly. Daylight saving is handled automatically where it applies.
Three of the four pillars are fixed by your birth date. The fourth one only exists if you know your time.
